BIO

Robyn N. Lanier has completed her college preparatory studies and also attended the Cleveland Music School Settlement. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition from Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory and a Master of Music Performance in Voice from the University of Akron School of Music.

From 1996 to 1999, Ms. Lanier held the position of Music Director at Twinsburg Youth Theater. Subsequently, from 2002 to 2004, she served as the Artistic and Music Director at East Cleveland Theater. Additionally, she was the Voice Coach, Accompanist, and Music Director at US Performing Arts from 2005 to 2008, before embarking on new adventures in China.

Ms. Lanier performed as a principle soloist in the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria; Case Western Reserve’s Requiem Mass and the Case Western Reserve Wind Ensemble performance at Severance Hall; performer and clinician in Hunan Province, China; and Collage of University of Akron in EJ Thomas Hall. Her most fond accomplishment was singing for the President of the United States at Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center.

She has gained international experience as a music director for Holland-America/Carnival Corporation Cruise Lines, collaborating with various singers and musicians. Moreover, she served as a vocal/instrument coach for performers in Los Angeles before they started working in Las Vegas shows and boarding cruise ships.

From 2018 to 2020, she served as the K-12 Music Teacher at Sand Point School in the Aleutian East Borough School District. Additionally, she held the role of Director of Choirs, Drama, and Music Appreciation and Technology at Kenai Central High School from 2020 to 2023. She has now been appointed as the Director of Orchestras, Music Appreciation and Technology at Bettye Davis East High School.
